Curtis Youngblood with Rave 700
Curtis Youngblood, owner of CJ Youngblood Ent. and Texas Drone Professionals, got his start in what has blossomed into the UAV industry at a very young age. He began flying fixed-wing model aircraft at the age of 7, and quickly realized his interest were in rotary-wing model aircraft. The models were crude and the technology new, but he was hooked. As he gained recognition and began competing in the early 1980’s, he picked up sponsorships and flew around the world competing in FAI and 3D aerobatic events. He won his first U.S. Nationals in 1983, and became World Champion in 1987, a title he would defend for the next two and a half decades. Eventually he would begin to re-shape the r/c helicopter industry with his continuous need for better performance parts.
CJ Youngblood Enterprises Inc was founded in 1993 by Curtis Youngblood with the original Muscle Pipe muffler, a tuned pipe to give nitro motors more power. CJYE constantly grew, pumping out new innovations and manufacturing them for the rest of the world to enjoy. Products included lines such as the Muscle Pipe (mufflers), Radix (carbon fiber rotor-blades), ATG (active throttle governor), Solid G & Mini G (3-axis gyro stabilization), Total G (all-in-one flight control system with gyros).
Next D, a division of CJ Youngblood Enterprises Inc was a global corporation focused on the design and manufacture of the highest quality rc helicopters. Products in the Next D line included the Rave (450 size that can take up to 350mm blades) and the Rave ENV & Ballistic (700 size). The Rave Ballistic 635 was the last helicopter we produced before we rolled out the world’s first collective pitch quad-copter, the Stingray 500. The Stingray used variable pitch props and a revolutionary flight control system (TG Multi) developed by Curtis and his father to obtain sustained 3D flght. It would be the platform that allowed us to scale to the MantaRay, a 1250mm collective-pitch quad-copter that we use for our current large-scale UAV needs.
As the multi-rotor world exploded, Curtis Youngblood used his technology, experience and innovation to re-brand and build the professional UAV services we offer today. No UAV company has the experienced pilots and technology that we can offer to complete your UAV needs. We continue to stay on the cutting-edge of technology designing and producing new aerial platforms, developing new software/hardware for FLIR technology on UAV , and helping 3rd party photogrammetry companies evolve their software for more precise measurements.
Below you will find Curts Youngblood’s competition achievements. We want to thank each and every one of you for joining us in our past endeavors, and invite you to step with us into the future of CJ Youngblood Ent.!
